Some PrepRise features are described as “unlimited.” This page sets out exactly what that means, the daily ceilings that apply to each feature, and why they exist. Every limit here is set far above what ordinary personal study requires — in normal use you should never meet one. Wherever a limit applies in the app, it is marked with a † that links back here.
“Unlimited” describes unmetered access for ordinary personal study. It does not mean uncapped automated access. PrepRise runs on paid infrastructure, and some features call AI models that cost real money for every request. A single automated script left running overnight can consume more of that capacity than hundreds of students studying normally.
The ceilings below exist to keep the service fast and available for everyone, and to make abuse expensive rather than free. They are not a way of quietly making “unlimited” mean “a bit less than you expected”: they are set at thresholds a real student does not reach.
All counters reset daily at 00:00 UTC. Limits apply per account.
| Feature | Free | Pro | Unlimited | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AI explanations | 2 / day | 20 / day | 150 / day | 50 / day |
| AI diagnostic review | — | — | 3 / day | 1 / day |
| Score report analysis | — | — | 3 / day | 1 / day |
| Score projections | — | — | 3 / day | 1 / day |
| Practice questions | Genuinely unlimited — no daily cap on any plan. | |||
A dash means the feature is not included in that plan rather than that it is unlimited. The limits in force at any time are those published in the app; this page is kept in step with them.
A projection is an estimate, not a prediction or a guarantee, and PrepRise presents it with a range and a confidence level rather than as a single certain number. It is calculated on our servers from the data already in your account: your logged scores and their dates, any full-length diagnostics you have taken in the app, and your practice volume and consistency.
Two things about the method are worth stating plainly. First, more recent and verified results carry more weight than older or self-reported ones, and a projection built from thin evidence is deliberately shrunk toward your current level rather than extrapolated confidently. Second, every projection starts from a baseline floor of ten points above your most recent score, on the assumption that you keep studying. Where that floor is doing the work — because your own recent trend sits below it — the app says so on the result itself rather than presenting the figure as a reading of your curve.
Projected scores are always shown in the ten-point increments the College Board actually issues. PrepRise is not affiliated with the College Board and cannot predict an official result.
PrepRise may suspend or terminate access, in whole or in part, where usage is automated, shared between multiple individuals, resold or redistributed, or otherwise inconsistent with personal study use. In practice this means scripted access to the AI endpoints, sharing one account across a class or tutoring group, or reselling access.
We would rather raise a limit than close an account. If you have a genuine reason to need more than these ceilings allow — a tutoring organisation, a school, a research use — get in touch and we will find an arrangement rather than leave you hitting a wall.
PrepRise may vary these limits on reasonable notice. If a limit is lowered in a way that could affect normal study use, that change will be noted in the app before it takes effect. The “Last updated” date above changes whenever this page does.
Questions about these limits, or a request for an exception, go to preprise.app@preprise.org. Requests are handled personally by the app's developer.
